About Glow Worm Glen

It is notable for a colony of glow worms (Arachnocampa richardsae) that illuminate the sandstone overhangs and creek banks in darkness. The short, steep track passes through temperate rainforest, fern gullies and sandstone formations, offering a distinctive nocturnal nature experience close to Bundanoon village.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a short return walking track (about 2 km return) descending from William Street in Bundanoon into a damp, fern-filled gully with sandstone overhangs and a small creek. The track is formed with steps, handrails and dirt sections through temperate rainforest. In daylight the glen is a cool, shaded forest walk; after dark, small blue-green lights from glow worms are visible on the rock walls and banks when viewed in silence and darkness.
