About Ghurni Clay Model Makers' Quarter
Ghurni Clay Model Makers' Quarter is a historic artisan settlement in Ghurni, on the outskirts of Krishnanagar in Nadia district, West Bengal. Renowned for its lifelike clay dolls and terracotta figures, the quarter houses generations of skilled potters. Established under the patronage of Raja Krishnachandra in the 18th century, it remains a living craft centre where visitors can observe traditional modelling techniques and purchase handcrafted sculptures.
