About Fruit Loop Drive Trail
The Fruit Loop Drive Trail is a self-drive agritourism trail looping through the Gascoyne River plantations around Carnarvon in Western Australia's Coral Coast region. The trail follows sealed and unsealed rural roads through banana, mango, avocado and other tropical fruit plantations irrigated by the Gascoyne River. It is notable for roadside plantation stalls, interpretive signage and insight into Carnarvon's horticultural industry, which supplies much of Western Australia's produce.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a signposted self-drive loop of approximately 30 kilometres starting and ending near the Carnarvon Visitor Centre. The route passes along North River Road and South River Road through flat river plain plantations, irrigation channels and the Gascoyne River. Visitors can stop at seasonal roadside stalls to purchase fresh tropical fruit and local produce, view working plantations from the road, read interpretive signs about crops and irrigation, and photograph the rural landscape. The trail is driven in a conventional vehicle with stops at stalls and viewpoints.
