About Freedom Beach
Freedom Beach is a 300-meter secluded white-sand beach located between Patong and Karon on the west coast of Phuket Island in Kathu District. Sheltered by jungle-covered hills and granite boulders, it is known for clear turquoise water, soft sand and a relatively undeveloped setting. Accessible mainly by longtail boat from Patong or a steep trail through private land, it offers a quiet alternative to nearby busy beaches.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a relatively undeveloped 300-meter bay with soft white sand, clear turquoise water and granite boulders at both ends, backed by steep jungle-covered hills. The beach is quieter than Patong and Karon, with limited development. Areas to explore include the main sandy shoreline, shallow water for swimming and snorkeling, and shaded spots under trees. Access is via longtail boat or a steep downhill trail, and basic seasonal vendors provide loungers and refreshments.
