About Fort St. Anthony of Simbor
Fort St. Anthony of Simbor is a ruined Portuguese island fort located on a small rocky islet about one kilometre off Simbor Beach, approximately 25 kilometres east of Diu in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Built in 1722, the fort features weathered stone walls and bastions surrounded by the Arabian Sea. Notable for its isolated offshore setting and colonial military architecture, it is accessible only by boat and remains largely in ruins.
