About Field of Light
Field of Light is a large-scale immersive light installation by British artist Bruce Munro located in the desert near Yulara in the Petermann region of the Northern Territory. Situated with views of Uluru, it comprises more than 50,000 solar-powered frosted glass spheres connected by illuminated fibre optics covering an area equivalent to seven football fields. First opened in 2016 as a temporary exhibition, it has been extended indefinitely due to popularity.
