History of Farrukhnagar Fort (Delhi Gate)
Farrukhnagar Fort was built in 1732 by Faujdar Khan, the first Nawab of Farrukhnagar and a Mughal governor appointed during the reign of Emperor Farrukhsiyar, after whom the town is named. The octagonal fort with bastions and five gates (including Delhi Gate, Mori Gate and others) enclosed the town and served as a defensive and administrative centre. It reflects late-Mughal architecture and the history of Farrukhnagar as an 18th-century salt trading centre.
