About Enchanted River
The Hinatuan Enchanted River is a deep, spring-fed brackish river in Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, Mindanao. Known for its exceptionally clear, deep blue waters that appear to change hue, the river flows into the Philippine Sea. Its unexplored depth, abundant fish, and daily fish-feeding ritual have made it a major natural attraction in Caraga Region, managed as a protected site with designated swimming areas.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a short, spring-fed river with strikingly clear blue water set within a managed park surrounded by forest and limestone. The main deep pool is viewed from a viewing deck and walkways; swimming is allowed only in a designated shallow area downstream. At around noon, caretakers conduct a fish-feeding where schools of fish gather in the main pool. The site includes cottages, pathways, changing areas and food stalls, with a calm, regulated visitor flow.
