About Edith Falls
Edith Falls, traditionally known as Leliyn, is a waterfall and swimming area on the northern edge of Nitmiluk National Park in the Northern Territory, about 60 kilometres north of Katherine. Part of the Roper Gulf region, it features a series of cascades and clear pools fed by the Edith River. Managed jointly with Jawoyn traditional owners, it is notable for safe seasonal swimming, bushwalking trails and camping facilities within a sandstone escarpment landscape.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a tiered waterfall system with a large lower plunge pool for swimming and a smaller upper pool accessible via walking trails. The setting is sandstone country with paperbark-lined pools, open woodland and escarpment views. Facilities include a kiosk, campground, picnic and barbecue areas.
