About Dobanki Canopy Walk
Dobanki Canopy Walk is an elevated walkway located at Dobanki Camp inside the Sundarban Tiger Reserve in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Situated within the Sundarbans mangrove forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers visitors an elevated view of the dense mangrove ecosystem. The approximately 896-foot-long walkway, raised about 20 feet above ground, allows observation of wildlife, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, and the surrounding tidal forest landscape.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an elevated fenced canopy walkway about 20 feet above ground extending through dense mangrove forest at Dobanki Camp. The walk leads to a watchtower overlooking a sweet-water pond and forest clearing where tigers and other wildlife are often sighted. The surroundings consist of tidal mangrove creeks, mudflats and dense forest. Access is only by boat from Godkhali or nearby jetties with a licensed guide, and visitors explore the walkway, watchtower and interpretation centre within the camp area.
