History of Dinosaur Fossil National Park
The park preserves fossils dating to the Late Cretaceous, approximately 65-100 million years ago, when the Narmada Valley was inhabited by dinosaurs including titanosaurs. Fossilized eggs, nests and bones were discovered in the Bagh area during systematic surveys, leading to notification of the area as a fossil national park to protect the scientifically important in-situ remains for research and education.
