History of Dhosi Hill
Dhosi Hill is identified as an extinct volcano, considered the only volcanic hill in Haryana and part of the Aravalli Range. It is traditionally associated with Vedic Sage Chyawan, who is said to have meditated here and for whom Chyawanprash was first prepared. The hilltop fort ruins are attributed to medieval period rulers and later local chieftains who used the elevated crater rim for defence.
Culture & Context
The hill is a Hindu pilgrimage site centered on the Chyawan Rishi Temple and ashram at the summit. Devotees visit the temple and sacred pond, especially during fairs and religious occasions. The legend of Chyawanprash gives the site importance in Ayurvedic tradition.
