About David Roche Gallery
The David Roche Gallery, also known as The David Roche Foundation House Museum, is a house museum and gallery at Fermoy House on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide, South Australia. Established from the extensive collection of Adelaide collector David Roche (1930-2013), it displays more than 3,000 objects including European furniture, ceramics, clocks, bronzes and paintings. Notable for its intact collector's house setting and curated exhibitions, it preserves a significant decorative arts collection in Australia.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect to explore Fermoy House, a late 19th-century residence, and an adjacent purpose-built gallery. The house is presented as it was lived in, with densely furnished period rooms displaying European decorative arts, paintings and objets d'art. The gallery hosts changing exhibitions from the collection and loans. Visits to the house are by guided tour, with gardens and a shop accessible. The setting is an inner-suburban heritage streetscape close to Adelaide city centre.
