History of Datanla Waterfall
The name Datanla originates from the K'Ho ethnic language phrase 'Datamla' meaning water under leaves, referring to the forested setting. The area was historically inhabited by K'Ho people and later developed as a scenic site during the French colonial period when Da Lat was established as a hill station.
Culture & Context
The waterfall is associated with local K'Ho folklore, including legends of ethnic minority heroes, and is considered a representative natural landmark of Da Lat's pine forest landscape. It reflects the cultural identity of the Central Highlands and is a prominent feature in Lam Dong tourism promotion.
