History of Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Museum
The museum preserves the story of Lim Ko Niao, sister of Lim To Khiam (Lin Daoqian), a Chinese merchant/pirate figure associated with the Ming Dynasty period. According to local legend, Lim Ko Niao travelled from China to Pattani to persuade her brother to return home, and after failing, took her own life. The shrine was later established in her memory and has become a historic centre for the Chinese community in Pattani.
