History of Champapur Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra
Champapur is identified with ancient Champapuri, the capital of the Anga Kingdom. Jain tradition holds it as the birthplace of Vasupujya, the 12th Tirthankara, where all five Kalyanaks - Garbha, Janma, Diksha, Kevala Jnana and Moksha - are believed to have taken place, hence its status as a Siddha Kshetra. The site has long been a centre of Jain worship with historic idols and charan padukas preserved in the complex.
