History of Chakra Tirth
Chakra Tirth is the focal point of Naimisharanya, described in Puranas as the forest where 88,000 sages led by Shaunaka performed penance. Tradition holds that Lord Brahma sent a divine chakra to find a suitable place for the sages, which pierced the earth at this spot creating the circular tirtha, hence the name Chakra Tirth.
