About Casa Real
Casa Real is a reconstructed heritage building in central Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, located near the city plaza along Rizal Avenue. Originally the casa tribunal and residence of the Spanish politico-military governor during the Spanish colonial period, it is notable as the place where national hero Dr. Jose Rizal stayed upon his arrival in exile in Dapitan in 1892. Today it functions as a small history museum displaying Rizal memorabilia, period furnishings, and exhibits on Dapitan's colonial history.
