About Caramoan Islands
The Caramoan Islands are a group of limestone islands and islets off the Caramoan Peninsula in northeastern Camarines Sur, Bicol Region, Philippines, facing the Philippine Sea. Known for dramatic karst cliffs, white-sand beaches, hidden lagoons and caves, the archipelago is centered around Caramoan municipality. It gained international attention as a filming location for the Survivor television franchise and is accessed by boat tours from Caramoan town to beaches such as Gota, Matukad and Lahos.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an island-hopping experience by outrigger boat from Caramoan town center or Gota Port to scattered small islands with white-sand beaches, limestone cliffs, rock formations, shallow lagoons and caves. Beaches are largely undeveloped with limited structures, clear waters for swimming and snorkeling, and viewpoints over the Philippine Sea. Tours typically visit 4-6 islands per day with stops for swimming, photography and beach time. Facilities on the islands are minimal; accommodation and restaurants are in Caramoan town.
