About Brown Canyon
Brown Canyon is a former sand and soil quarry in Rowosari, Tembalang, Semarang, Central Java. Over a decade of excavation created steep brown cliffs up to 30-40 meters high resembling a canyon landscape, earning the nickname Brown Canyon after the Grand Canyon. Since around 2014-2015 the abandoned mining area has become a popular informal tourist spot known for its dramatic earth-toned walls and open quarry scenery.
