About Broken Bridge
The Broken Bridge is a partially collapsed bridge spanning the Adyar River estuary in Adyar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Built in 1967 to connect Adyar to Foreshore Estate, a section collapsed in 1977 due to strong river currents and was never repaired. Now closed to vehicles, the remaining structure extends over the estuary and Bay of Bengal, known for estuary views, sunset photography, and as a popular film-shooting location near Besant Nagar.
