History of Brahmand Ghat
Brahmand Ghat is traditionally associated with the early life of Lord Krishna in Braj. According to Bhagavata Purana tradition, at this spot the child Krishna, after eating soil, opened his mouth to his foster mother Yashoda who saw the entire universe (Brahmand) inside it. Mahavan (ancient Gokul) is regarded as Krishna's childhood residence, and the ghat has been a place of veneration for centuries within the Braj pilgrimage tradition.

The ghat is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site for Vaishnavas and followers of Krishna devotion. It is an important station of the Braj Yatra and Chaurasi Kos Parikrama, where pilgrims perform Yamuna worship, prayers and ritual bathing. Festivals such as Janmashtami, Annakut and Kartik month attract large numbers of devotees.
