History of Bollywood Veggies
Founded in 2000 by Ivy Singh-Lim and Lim Ho Seng on former wasteland in Kranji, Bollywood Veggies pioneered organic farming and agritourism in Singapore. The couple, nicknamed the Bollywood Veggies, transformed the land into a productive farm to promote food sustainability and self-sufficiency, later adding the Food Museum and Poison Ivy Bistro as educational and community initiatives.
Culture & Context
The farm promotes sustainable agriculture, local food heritage and farm-to-table culture in urban Singapore. It serves as an educational centre for schools and visitors about tropical crops, traditional farming methods and Singapore's culinary history, supporting the Kranji Countryside's role as the city's rural and agrotechnology belt.
