Bedok 85 Market

Bedok 85 Market, also known as 85 Fengshan Centre, is a well-known hawker centre located at 85 Bedok North Street 4 in Bedok North, Singapore. Built as part of the Fengshan Centre estate, it houses dozens of food stalls offering affordable local dishes. It is notable for its long operating hours, late-night supper culture, and signature dishes such as Bak Chor Mee and barbecued seafood, making it a popular dining destination for residents and visitors.

Visitors can expect an open-air, single-storey hawker centre with rows of cooked-food stalls surrounding communal tables and stools under a high-pitched roof. The environment is casual and bustling, especially in the evenings. Stalls offer a wide range of affordable Singaporean dishes including Chinese, Malay and Indian options, with a focus on noodle dishes, satay, and BBQ seafood. Visitors order directly from stalls, dine at shared seating, and experience a typical neighbourhood hawker centre atmosphere.

Built in the early 1980s as part of the Housing and Development Board's Fengshan Centre in Bedok New Town to provide market and cooked-food facilities for the growing residential estate. It has since become one of Bedok's most enduring hawker centres.

Represents Singapore's hawker culture, which was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020. It serves as a community dining space reflecting multicultural local cuisine and neighbourhood social life.
