About Barnbougle Dunes
Barnbougle Dunes is a world-renowned links golf course located at Bridport in the Dorset municipality of north-east Tasmania, Australia. Set among coastal dunes overlooking Bass Strait and Anderson Bay, it opened in 2004 on former farmland. Visitors guide
Visitors can expect an 18-hole championship links course laid out across natural coastal dunes with marram grass, sandy undulations and open views of Bass Strait and Anderson Bay. The setting is exposed and windswept with few trees. Facilities are centred on a clubhouse with restaurant, bar and pro shop, plus on-site accommodation at cottages and Lost Farm Lodge. Play is walking-focused with caddies available, and non-golf visitors can use dining and coastal walking areas.

History of Barnbougle Dunes
Developed by founder Greg Ramsay and opened in December 2004, Barnbougle Dunes was Tasmania's first true links course, designed by American architect Tom Doak with Mike Clayton on former potato farmland at Bridport. Its international acclaim established north-east Tasmania as a major golf tourism destination and led to the opening of the second course, Barnbougle Lost Farm, in December 2010.
Culture & Context
Recognized as a leading example of modern links golf in Australia, Barnbougle Dunes has contributed significantly to golf tourism and regional development in Dorset and Tasmania and is regularly featured in Australian and world top-100 course rankings.
