History of Bapa Sitaram Temple
The temple is associated with Saint Bajrangdas Bapa (1906-1977), a revered Hindu saint who lived in Bagdana and established an ashram there. He was known for his service, humility and Annakshetra tradition of feeding pilgrims. After his passing, his samadhi at Bagdana became the central shrine, and the ashram developed into a major pilgrimage centre in Saurashtra.
Culture & Context
The temple is an important pilgrimage site for followers of Bapa Sitaram across Gujarat and is regarded as a centre of seva (selfless service) and community feeding. The continuous Annakshetra, devotional singing and observance of the saint's birth and death anniversaries are central to its religious and cultural life.
