About Banza Church Ruins
Banza Church Ruins is the remains of a 17th-century stone church in Barangay Banza, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Philippines. Built in 1625 by Augustinian Recollect missionaries, it is regarded as the oldest stone church ruin in Mindanao. The church was destroyed in 1753 during Moro raids and was never rebuilt. Today only stone walls, foundations and remnants remain along the Agusan River, preserved as a historic landmark.
