About Bangui Wind Farm
Bangui Wind Farm, also known as Bangui Windmills, is a 15-megawatt wind power project along the shoreline of Bangui Bay in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Installed in 2005 by NorthWind Power Development Corporation, it was the first wind farm in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The farm consists of 20 white wind turbines arranged in a single row along a 9-kilometer stretch of beach facing the West Philippine Sea.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a row of 20 large white wind turbines lining the sandy shoreline of Bangui Bay with the West Philippine Sea as backdrop. The site is an open coastal area with beach, views of the turbines, sea and distant mountains. Visitors can walk along the beach, view turbines from the road and shoreline, take photographs, and observe the turbines rotating. There are no enclosed buildings to tour; the experience is primarily sightseeing and photography in an exposed, windy coastal environment.
