Now under Punjab Police, it is noted for its well-preserved structure and association with Patiala State history.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a large fortified complex with high outer walls, bastions, a former moat, and two concentric ramparts enclosing inner buildings. The fort houses a historic gurdwara associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur, courtyards and old residential quarters. The surroundings are semi-urban with agricultural fields and road access. Access is restricted as the fort is occupied by Punjab Police, so exterior views and limited interior access with prior permission is typical.
