History of Bach Ma National Park
The Bach Ma area was developed as a French hill station in the 1930s with about 139 villas to escape the coastal heat. The national park was officially established on 15 July 1991 to protect the northern Annamite Range ecosystem and later expanded to 37,487 hectares.
Culture & Context
The park is significant as a major biodiversity conservation area and ecotourism site in central Vietnam, representing the transition between northern and southern flora and fauna, and preserving the heritage of the former French hill station.
