History of Ba Na Hills
Originally developed as a hill station by French colonists in 1919 with about 200 villas as a mountain retreat, Ba Na Hills was abandoned after 1945. From 2007, Sun Group redeveloped the site, constructing the cable car system and resort facilities and transforming it into a major tourism complex.
Culture & Context
The complex showcases French colonial architectural influence through the French Village and Debay Wine Cellar built in 1923, alongside Vietnamese Buddhist elements such as Linh Ung Pagoda with its 27-meter Buddha statue, reflecting a blend of colonial heritage and spiritual tradition for visitors.
