About Artesian Bore Baths
The Artesian Bore Baths are public thermal pools in Lightning Ridge, Walgett Shire, New South Wales, fed by naturally heated artesian water from the Great Artesian Basin. Located on Pandora Street in the centre of town, the baths are known for their constant 41-42°C mineral-rich water. Established after the bore was drilled in 1921, they are a free, 24-hour community and visitor facility valued for relaxation and therapeutic soaking.
