History of Aranmula Heritage Village
Aranmula is centered around the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple, believed to have been built centuries ago and associated with the 18th-century traditions of Travancore. The village has preserved traditional crafts like the Aranmula Kannadi, whose metal-mirror making technique is said to be several centuries old and passed down through generations of craftsmen. The Aranmula boat race tradition is linked to the temple festival and the legend of transporting offerings across the Pampa River.
