About Angat Dam
Angat Dam is a concrete rockfill embankment dam on the Angat River in Norzagaray, Bulacan, about 58 kilometers northeast of Manila. Completed in 1967, it creates the Angat Reservoir within the Angat Watershed Forest Reserve. The dam is a major water supply source for Metro Manila and generates hydroelectric power. While access to the dam structure is restricted, visitors can view the reservoir and surrounding forested watershed from designated viewpoints with prior permission.
Visitors guide
Visitors to Angat Dam can expect a large reservoir set within the forested Angat Watershed Forest Reserve. The dam structure itself is a restricted security zone managed by the National Power Corporation and is not open for general walk-in tourism. With prior permit, visitors may access designated viewpoints overlooking the reservoir, dam crest, and spillway, and see the surrounding hills and watershed forest. The area is primarily for water supply and power generation, so facilities are limited and the experience is focused on sightseeing and photography from authorized viewing areas.
