About Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre
The Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, showcases the world's largest classroom providing distance education to children in remote Central Australia. Located on Head Street, it offers guided tours, live viewing of lessons during school terms, a film presentation and museum exhibits on the history of outback education since 1951. It is notable for demonstrating how radio and later internet technology connects isolated students across more than one million square kilometres.
